Essays on living in the middle of history

I write about the world we live in, through the lens of what has come before. We are living in what history has left to us, and our present will one day be another generation's past.

My perspective combines my lived experience of queer identity and my academic training in anthropology and religious studies. I'm based in the UK, though the subjects I tackle are by no means limited by borders. You can find me on Bluesky at @middleofhistory.

If you'd like to support me...

...then there are three main ways: by making a one-off or monthly tip through my Ko-fi, by subscribing to the free mailing list at the link below, and by sharing my work with those you think would be interested. By doing so, you'll be helping to support independent writing in an online environment increasingly dominated by LLMs and media giants. Any and all support is very gratefully appreciated.
